Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Lineup Sets 1.44M Pre-Order Record
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Lineup Sets Record With 1.44 Million Pre-Orders
Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone lineup has achieved 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea, setting a new pre-order record for any Galaxy smartphone series.
The figure includes the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8. Pre-orders were recorded during the seven-day period from July 28 to August 3, averaging approximately 140 devices every minute.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Becomes the Most Popular Model
The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 accounted for approximately 70% of all pre-orders, equivalent to just over one million units.
Samsung attributed its popularity to the phone’s redesigned, passport-sized form factor and new 4:3 display ratio. The Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs 201 grams and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. It also features dual 50MP rear cameras and a 4,800mAh battery.
Samsung Breaks Previous Galaxy Records
The latest result surpassed several previous Samsung pre-order records in South Korea:
- Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7: 1.04 million
- Galaxy S26 series: 1.35 million
- Galaxy Note10 series: 1.38 million
- Galaxy Z Fold8 lineup: 1.44 million
The previous Galaxy foldable record belonged to the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, which reached 1.04 million domestic pre-orders in 2025.
The strong response suggests that foldable phones are attracting more mainstream buyers, particularly as Samsung introduces different models for portability, productivity and premium users.
