Major iPhone 18 Pro & Apple Foldable Rumors: Under-Screen Face ID and Specs Leaked
New details have surfaced about Apple's highly anticipated 2026 iPhone lineup, including its rumored first foldable device. According to several leaks from industry analysts, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series and the so-called "iPhone Fold" could bring significant changes.
The biggest potential upgrade for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max is the removal of the visible notch. Analyst Jeff Pu and leaker "Digital Chat Station" suggest these models will feature under-screen Face ID technology. This means the sensors needed for face unlock would be hidden beneath the display, possibly resulting in a screen with just a single, small hole-punch cutout for the front camera in the top-left corner. The display sizes are tipped to remain the same as the current models: 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.
All models, including the foldable, are expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 Pro chip, built on a new, more efficient 2nm process, and paired with 12GB of RAM. The Pro models are also rumored to get a triple 48MP camera system on the back, including a periscope telephoto lens for better zoom.
The most exciting rumor is about Apple's foldable entry. Dubbed the iPhone Fold, it is described as a "book-style" foldable with a 7.8-inch main inner display and a 5.3-inch outer cover screen. Interestingly, it might use Touch ID (a fingerprint sensor) for security instead of Face ID, potentially built into the power button. Its body could use a mix of titanium and aluminum for strength and lightness. It would feature a dual 48MP rear camera and 18MP selfie cameras on both screens.
It's important to note that these are early rumors and specifications are not yet confirmed by Apple. The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to launch in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 models might see a delayed release. The iPhone Fold is also rumored for a late 2026 debut
