Galaxy S26 Leak Spills Details: More Storage, New Gorilla Glass, and Official Launch Dates

With Samsung's Galaxy S26 launch drawing closer, new leaks are revealing exciting details about the upcoming flagship series. The latest information covers everything from storage options to display protection and even the official launch schedule.

A major highlight is a significant storage upgrade for the base model. A leak from a Finnish retailer suggests that the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ will now come with 256GB of storage as the default option, potentially doing away with the 128GB variant entirely. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to start at 256GB. All three models will reportedly be available in Black, White, Sky Blue, and Cobalt Violet color options, with additional colors like Silver Shadow or Orange possibly launching in other regions.

In a separate but exciting development, tipster Ice Universe claims the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a new generation of Gorilla Glass so advanced it might make screen protectors unnecessary. The new glass is said to have an ultra-strong anti-reflective coating that tackles glare, improved clarity, and enhanced strength—effectively eliminating the need for matte, clear, or tempered glass protectors.

As for the official timeline, multiple sources now confirm the Galaxy Unpacked launch event will take place in San Francisco on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Pre-orders for the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are expected to open right after the event concludes.

The phones are then tipped to go on sale globally, including in Europe and North America, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This places the retail launch just over two weeks after the official unveiling and shortly after the Mobile World Congress trade show ends.

While Samsung may try to keep prices stable, rising component costs could lead to a slight price increase, especially for higher storage tiers. The popular "double storage" pre-order bonus might also be at risk this year.
