Sony kicked off its 2026 gaming events with a packed PlayStation State of Play presentation, delivering over 60 minutes of new game reveals, release dates, and updates for the PS5. The showcase came just one week after Nintendo's first Direct of the year and covered everything from major sequels to indie gems.

Here are the biggest announcements from the ps5 state of play games lineup:

Kena: Scars of Kosmora

Developer Ember Lab opened the show with a sequel to 2021's hit. The trailer showed intense combat and traversal, featuring an older Kena. It's coming to PS5 and PC later in 2026.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends

A free cooperative multiplayer expansion for last year's hit arrives March 10. It adds four-player co-op missions featuring new character classes and battles against demonic versions of the Yotei Six.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

The PC port was confirmed with upscaling, frame generation, and DualSense support. It launches on March 19. The same day, PS5 owners get a free content update.

Pragmata

Capcom finally showed new footage of its long-awaited sci-fi adventure, set in a derelict city. It launches April 24, but a playable demo is available now.

007 First Light

IO Interactive revealed a story trailer for its James Bond origin game. Set partly in Iceland, it follows Bond's recruitment into MI6. Coming to PS5.

God of War: Greek Trilogy Remake & Sons of Sparta

Santa Monica Studio confirmed a remake of the original trilogy is in development. Surprisingly, it also released God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer, which is available now.

Marathon

Bungie announced a Server Slam event for February 26 ahead of the game's full launch on March 5.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

The classic gothic action series returns in 2D form on PS5, developed by Konami with Evil Empire and Motion Twin.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Arrives March 3 on PS5 and PS4 with visual upgrades. The Deluxe Edition includes a playable demo of the cancelled sequel, Dark Prophecy.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Launches August 27 on PS5, bundling MGS4, Peace Walker, and Ghost Babel.

Resident Evil: Requiem

Capcom debuted a launch trailer ahead of its February 27 release.

PlayStation Plus Updates

February Game Catalog includes Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (available February 17), Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, Neva, and Season.
Premium Classics add Tekken Dark Resurrection in March and Time Crisis in May.

Other notable reveals included Loop (a co-op roguelite), John Wick Game from Sabre Interactive, Silent Hill: Townfall, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round (coming June 25), Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition (available now), and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
