iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Confirmed at 5,391mAh, Up 11.78%

Apple has officially revealed the battery capacities of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models that come with a physical SIM card tray.

According to EU battery information published for Apple’s latest flagship iPhones, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has a 5,391mAh battery, representing an 11.78% increase over the 4,823mAh battery found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The smaller iPhone 18 Pro also receives a modest battery upgrade, moving from 3,988mAh on the iPhone 17 Pro to 4,056mAh, an increase of 68mAh or around 1.71%.

The 568mAh increase on the iPhone 18 Pro Max is particularly notable. It gives Apple's largest 2026 iPhone a significantly larger battery than its predecessor.

SIM and eSIM versions have different capacities

Apple continues to sell different iPhone configurations depending on the market. Some countries receive models with a physical SIM tray, while others use eSIM-only versions.

The eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to have an even larger 5,567mAh battery, as removing the physical SIM tray provides additional internal space. The iPhone 18 Pro eSIM version is estimated to feature a 4,288mAh battery.

The eSIM-only models are offered in markets including the United States, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Mexico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For markets where Apple continues to offer a physical SIM tray, including China and many other regions, the iPhone 18 Pro Max uses the confirmed 5,391mAh battery.

The larger battery capacity, combined with the efficiency improvements of Apple's latest hardware, could make the iPhone 18 Pro Max one of the company's longest-lasting iPhones.
