New renders and specifications of the upcoming REDMI 17 5G global variant have appeared online ahead of Xiaomi’s official announcement.

The leaked images show the smartphone in orange, black and blue colour options. The orange model appears to feature a textured, leather-like rear finish, while the other variants use smoother back panels.

REDMI 17 5G Display and Design

The REDMI 17 5G is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch LCD with a 1600 × 720 resolution. The display reportedly supports selectable 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rates, along with up to 825 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode.

According to the leak, the phone measures 170.12 × 74.42 × 8.8mm and weighs approximately 235 grams.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and Android 16

The phone is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, manufactured using a 4nm process and clocked at up to 2.45GHz.

It could ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed its software or update policy.

Massive 7,500mAh Battery

Battery capacity could become the REDMI 17 5G’s biggest selling point.

The leak mentions a 7,500mAh battery with 45W USB-C fast charging and USB Power Delivery support. However, a charger may not be included inside the retail box.

Camera and Connectivity

The expected camera setup includes:

  1. 50MP main rear camera
  2. QVGA anti-flicker sensor
  3. 8MP front-facing camera

Other reported features include dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint reader and IP64 dust and splash resistance.

Xiaomi has not announced the REDMI 17 5G officially, so its final specifications, price and availability could differ from the leaked information.
