Honor MagicOS 11 OneHop Gets Driving Route & File Sharing
Honor is rolling out a helpful upgrade to its OneHop feature as part of its MagicOS 11 update this month, significantly expanding the quick sharing capabilities for users. According to an IT Home report sourcing Honor product maintenance and upgrade manager @HonorXiaofangge, the feature now supports effortless sharing for driving routes on Gaode Maps, cloud files on Baidu Cloud, and several other lifestyle platforms.
By enabling users to send content to another device with a single physical tap, the software upgrade simplifies daily tasks and improves cross-device productivity. This development brings more of the apps that people use every day into the brand's instant-sharing ecosystem, making it far easier to collaborate or transfer information on the fly.
Expanding Support for Travel, Navigation, and Files
The latest software refresh brings four new applications into the OneHop fold, addressing navigation, files, outdoors, and entertainment.
With the new Gaode Maps integration, you can instantly share driving routes between devices by tapping them together. This is especially handy for passenger-to-driver route handoffs or getting travel plans onto a secondary screen.
For files, Baidu Cloud now supports one-tap sharing, letting you transfer large documents or media stored in the cloud in a flash.
Outdoor enthusiasts can benefit from Two Steps Outdoor Assistant, which now allows one-tap sharing of hiking trails, active tracks, and outdoor itineraries.
Finally, Himalaya audio sharing is now part of the lineup, letting you pass podcasts, audiobooks, or music to another device in an instant.
OneHop Backs Cross-Brand and iOS Ecosystems
The utility of MagicOS 11 OneHop extends beyond these new integrations, maintaining a broad suite of pre-existing app support. It allows two phones to instantly share videos, music, and online coupons with compatible applications. The ecosystem includes popular platforms like Douyin, Kugou Music, Meituan, Alipay, WPS Docs, Three Kingdoms Kill, Bilibili, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu, and Taobao.
What makes OneHop especially valuable is its ability to bridge different operating systems and brand ecosystems. Honor devices can use OneHop to share photos, videos, files, and contacts with Apple iPhones and Macs, provided the iOS or macOS device has the "Honor Connect" app installed.
Furthermore, this frictionless sharing is not restricted to a single brand. Honor continues to back cross-brand OneHop functionality with devices from OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi, offering a versatile tool for Android users who frequently interact with different hardware ecosystems.
What This Expansion Means for Honor Device Owners
Software ecosystems are only as useful as the third-party apps they support. By bringing heavyweight Chinese digital services like Gaode Maps and Baidu Cloud into the OneHop ecosystem, Honor is making its high-speed connectivity much more practical for daily use. Instead of digging through menus, copying links, or relying on messy chat-app transfers, you can send critical travel and work files with a quick tap.
