Exynos 2500 May Be Exclusive to Galaxy Z Flip FE, Samsung Reportedly Prioritizes Snapdragon for Flagship Flip7

Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset has been at the center of speculation for months, and a new report from Korea suggests that its deployment might be more limited than initially expected. Originally intended for the Galaxy S25 series, the Exynos 2500 faced yield issues, leading to its exclusion from the flagship lineup. Later rumors hinted at its inclusion in the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7, but internal disagreements within Samsung’s mobile division have now cast doubt on this plan.

According to the latest report, the Exynos 2500 may only power the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE (Fan Edition), which is expected to launch several months after the Flip7 and Fold7. The Flip7 and Fold7 are likely to debut in July, as per Samsung’s usual release schedule, while the Z Flip FE could arrive later in the year. This staggered timeline would give Samsung additional time to address yield issues and optimize the Exynos 2500 for mass production.

The decision to reserve the Exynos 2500 for the Z Flip FE reportedly stems from Samsung’s reluctance to disrupt the successful formula of its flagship foldables. The Galaxy Z Flip series has consistently featured Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets, which have been well-received by consumers. By limiting the Exynos 2500 to the FE model, Samsung aims to avoid alienating buyers who expect the performance and reliability of Snapdragon processors in their premium devices.

Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly making an “all-out effort” to ensure that its next-generation Exynos 2600 chipset avoids the challenges faced by the 2500. The Exynos 2600 is being developed earlier in the year to ensure it meets the high standards required for the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to launch in 2026. This strategic shift highlights Samsung’s commitment to refining its in-house chipset technology while maintaining consumer trust in its flagship products.
