Samsung Plans to Build 1.14 Million Galaxy Z Fold8 Series Foldables in October and November

According to reports, Samsung is planning on producing around 1.14 million Galaxy Z8 series fordable handsets in the months of October and November in line with demand.

This includes the following three models: Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8.

Samsung is reportedly already sourcing the parts needed.

The wide-format Galaxy Z Fold gets the largest share, at around 500,000 units, or more than 40% of the total. The Fold Ultra follows with around 350,000 units, and the Flip8 with around 280,000.

The new target is lower than the roughly 2.14 million units planned for August and September. That drop is consistent with demand settling after the launch period.

The Fold8's strong sales explain its lead. Samsung's new foldables broke the company's pre-order records, passing even the Galaxy Note 10 series. Combined pre-orders for the three models were approaching 5 million worldwide, and Fold 8 pre-orders were about 30% higher than the Folder's globally. In Europe the increase was reportedly 70%.

Samsung's original plan was 2.8 million Fold8 units, 2 million Fold 8 Ultra and 1.5 million Flip 8. After the pre-order surge, it reportedly added 1 million more Fold 8 units, bringing that model's total to roughly 3.8 million.

The Fold 8 reportedly outsold the Fold 8 Ultra in most markets, which suggests the wide format is gaining mainstream traction despite premium pricing. The momentum also comes as rival foldables, including Apple's expected entry, approach the market.
