Samsung Accidentally Confirms Galaxy S26 Lineup: Three Models, No "Pro" or "Edge"

Samsung Accidentally Confirms Galaxy S26 Lineup: Three Models, No "Pro" or "Edge"

Samsung appears to have confirmed the official names of its upcoming flagship phones through a small but telling slip-up. A promotional document from Samsung Colombia has listed the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra as models eligible for a local credit card promotion.

This official listing effectively ends months of speculation about the lineup. Earlier rumors had suggested Samsung might rename the base model to Galaxy S26 "Pro" and replace the Plus model with a new Galaxy S26 "Edge" featuring a special curved display.

However, the document's mention of only the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra models suggests Samsung has decided to stick with its traditional three-model naming structure for the launch. This is reportedly due to the poor sales performance of last year's Galaxy S25 Edge, which convinced the company to abandon the Edge branding for now. The standard "Plus" name has made a comeback.

While the Edge model appears to be canceled for the initial launch, some reports suggest Samsung could still release a special edition Galaxy S26 Edge later in the year, similar to what it did with the S25 Edge.

In terms of launch timing, several sources point to February 25, 2026, as the date for the Galaxy Unpacked launch event. The phones are then expected to go on sale globally around March 11, 2026.

There is also growing concern about a potential price increase for the new series. Samsung's executives have recently warned that rising memory chip costs are putting pressure on the company, and they may have to "consider repricing" their products, which could mean higher prices for consumers.
