Redmi Note 15 Launched in India: Slim Build, 108MP Camera & 3D Curved Display Under Rs. 25,000

Xiaomi has officially launched its first major smartphone of 2026 in India: the Redmi Note 15 5G. The phone brings a fresh design, a high-resolution camera, and premium features like a curved display to the popular Note series, all at a competitive price point.

The Redmi Note 15 is now the slimmest and lightest phone in the Redmi Note lineup, with a thickness of just 7.35mm and a weight of 178 grams. It features a rounded frame for a more comfortable grip compared to the boxy design of its predecessor. It will be available in Glacier Blue, Black, and Mist Purple colours.

One of the biggest upgrades is the display. The Note 15 gets a 6.77-inch 3D curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. It can get extremely bright, reaching up to 3,200 nits, making it easy to see outdoors. The phone also has an IP66 rating for protection against water splashes and dust.

For photography, it sports a 108MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)—a first for the base Note model—using a new Samsung sensor. This is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera. Software features include a motion photo mode, portrait effects, and in-sensor zoom.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. It runs on the latest Android 15-based HyperOS 2 software, with a promise of four years of major Android updates and six years of security patches. Xiaomi also confirmed the HyperOS 3 update will arrive shortly after launch.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,220mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is slightly larger than last year's model. It supports 45W fast charging and can also reverse charge other devices at 18W.

Pricing and availability:

  1. 8GB + 128GB: Rs. 22,999
  2. 8GB + 256GB: Rs. 24,999

As an early bird offer, buyers can get an instant discount of Rs. 3,000 using specific bank cards. The phone will go on sale starting January 9 on Amazon, Mi.com, and Xiaomi offline stores.

While the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip is designed for reliable daily performance, it may face stiff competition from more powerful processors in the same price range. However, the combination of a sleek design, a 108MP camera, a premium curved display, and strong software support makes the Redmi Note 15 a well-rounded option for users prioritizing style and camera quality.
