Motorola has officially launched its latest premium smartphone, the Edge 70, in the Indian market. This new model focuses on a blend of sleek design, long-lasting battery life, and capable camera hardware, aiming to be a strong contender in the competitive mid-range segment.

The phone is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A launch offer provides a Rs. 1,000 instant discount for customers using specific bank cards. It will become available for purchase starting December 23 on Flipkart, Motorola's official online store, and through offline retailers. Buyers can choose from three distinct Pantone-certified colour options: Bronze Green, Gadget Grey, and Lily Pad.

One of the standout features of the Edge 70 is its remarkably slim and lightweight build. The phone measures just 5.99mm in thickness and weighs approximately 159 grams, despite housing a large 5,000mAh battery. This "silicon carbon" battery is claimed to deliver up to 31 hours of continuous video playback. It supports 68W wired fast charging and also includes the convenient addition of 15W wireless charging.

On the display front, you get a vibrant 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and an impressively bright peak of 4,500 nits for outdoor visibility. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, and the phone itself boasts a durable build with IP68 + IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, along with a military-grade durability certification.

Under the hood, performance is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The device runs on the latest Android 16 with Motorola's Hello UI layered on top and comes with a software promise of three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches. Motorola has also packed in several AI-powered software features under the "Moto AI" umbrella for productivity and camera enhancements.

For photography, the Edge 70 sports a versatile triple-camera setup on the back, led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). It is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, for selfies and video calls, there is another 50-megapixel camera. The camera system supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second and includes AI-powered tools for photo and video enhancement.
