iQOO Neo12 Brings Huge 9000mAh Battery and 185Hz Screen

The upcoming iQOO Neo12 will launch on October 28 with a massive 9000mAh Blue Ocean battery. Vivo subsidiary iQOO confirmed the launch date and hardware details in an official announcement, according to IT Home.

The device represents a notable shift in battery capacity for performance focused phones, which traditionally compromise on cell size to maintain slim profiles.

Massive Battery Capacity in the iQOO Neo12

The headline feature of the iQOO Neo12 is its 9000mAh Blue Ocean battery pack. The unit relies on fifth generation silicon anode technology and reaches an energy density of 916Wh/L. This density allows iQOO to fit an exceptionally large capacity without making the chassis excessively bulky.

To address power delivery during intense usage, iQOO included global direct drive power supply 2.0. This bypass charging feature routes electrical current straight to the internal hardware during gaming sessions, video playback, or GPS navigation. By bypassing the battery cell during heavy loads, the phone reduces heat build up and protects long term battery health while plugged into a charger.

Flagship Performance and Active Cooling

Under the hood, the iQOO Neo12 runs on the fifth generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra processor. The primary chipset pairs with a custom developed Q3 gaming chip alongside a new Monster Hyper Core engine to balance frame rates and efficiency.

Sustained performance relies on the Ice Dome air cooling system, which incorporates a built in active cooling fan. While passive vapor chambers are standard across most modern phones, active fans move heat away from processors much faster during marathon gaming sessions.

Display and Touch Responsiveness

The front of the phone houses a 2K resolution Super Crown display capable of reaching a 185Hz refresh rate. It utilizes pTSF display technology and Sky Mirror luminescent material to deliver 2200 nits of peak brightness across the entire panel. For nighttime reading, brightness can drop as low as 1 nit. The panel also features circularly polarized light display 2.0 alongside custom XDR dynamic range enhancement.

Display processing is handled by a dedicated 2K 185Hz driver chip, complemented by the same Super Sensing Touch Chip found on the flagship iQOO 16. Touch response reaches an instantaneous sampling rate of 5000Hz, while standard multi finger touch sampling operates at 500Hz.

Dedicated Gaming Features

Software optimizations take full advantage of the high refresh rate hardware. The phone supports concurrent 2K resolution and 185 frames per second super resolution processing. Over 50 games natively support the 185fps mode out of the gate.

Additional gaming extras include full scene ray tracing, visual enhancement filters, game glare protection, and an integrated game camera mode. The device also borrows Q flex control technology directly from the flagship tier.

Hardware Build and Color Options

The exterior features a sturdy metal frame and a square Deco camera island on the rear panel. Biometric security is managed through a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor positioned beneath the glass.

Buyers will have three color variants to choose from at launch: Confrontation, Shadow Black, and Frostblade Blue.

By combining an active cooling fan, a high refresh rate 2K panel, and an enormous 9000mAh battery cell, the phone addresses the primary bottlenecks of mobile gaming. Users who run demanding titles away from wall outlets will appreciate the extended endurance that a silicon anode battery of this scale provides.
