Apple has released the second public beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4. Along with macOS, Apple has also rolled out public beta updates for tvOS 26.4 and watchOS 26.4.

This public beta update arrived one day after the developer beta and one week after the first public beta. It is available for users who are part of Apple’s public beta testing program.

After registering on Apple’s beta website, users can download the update from the Software Update section in their device settings.

What’s New in macOS Tahoe 26.4

The macOS Tahoe 26.4 update brings some useful improvements:

Safari Compact Tab Layout is back
Apple has reintroduced the Compact tab layout in Safari for users who missed it in earlier versions.
New Charge Limit feature
Mac users can now set a charging limit between 80% and 100%, helping improve battery health over time.
Rosetta 2 warnings for Apple silicon Macs
Macs with Apple silicon will now show alerts for apps still using Rosetta 2, as Apple plans to remove Rosetta support after macOS 27.

Apple has also confirmed that macOS Tahoe is the last version to support Intel-based Macs. The company is slowly removing remaining Intel-related features.

More Features Coming Soon

Apple may add more features in later beta builds of macOS Tahoe 26.4, including new emoji characters. Testing is expected to continue for several weeks, with a public release planned for spring 2026.
