Apple Watch May Get AI Audio Features to Summarize Conversations

Apple is reportedly preparing new AI-powered audio features for the Apple Watch, bringing smarter conversation and sound recognition capabilities to its upcoming wearable lineup.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 could introduce new audio intelligence tools at Apple’s fall 2026 event. These features are expected to include Siri Recap and Live Recap, designed to help users keep track of conversations throughout the day.

Siri Recap Could Summarize Conversations

Siri Recap is expected to work like an automated conversation notes feature. Using ambient listening, the Apple Watch could identify important information from everyday conversations and provide a summary that users can review later.

This could be useful when someone needs to remember details from a conversation but does not want to manually take notes.

Live Recap Shows the Last 15 Seconds

Apple is also reportedly working on Live Recap, which would display a transcript of the most recent 15 seconds of a conversation in real time.

The feature could allow users to quickly check what was just said without asking someone to repeat themselves.

The watch may also be able to recognize important sounds around the user, including baby crying, doorbells and emergency sirens.

Apple Focuses on Privacy

Privacy is expected to be an important part of the feature. Apple reportedly says users will have control over whether these audio features are enabled.

The company also emphasizes that the Apple Watch will not create or permanently store audio recordings. The original audio is processed and immediately deleted, while Apple and third-party apps will not have access to the recordings.

These features would give the Apple Watch a more active role in Apple's growing AI wearable strategy, particularly as companies explore ways to make smartwatches more useful without requiring users to constantly interact with their phones.
