In a bold move that’s sparking mixed reactions among fans, OnePlus is reportedly ditching its iconic Alert Slider in favor of a smart button on the upcoming OnePlus 13T. The company claims this change will bring greater customization, addressing long-standing requests from its user base.

Goodbye Alert Slider, Hello Smart Button

Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, recently teased the new feature on social media, stating:
“The OnePlus 13T has been upgraded with a new shortcut key. While it retains the core functionality of switching between Silent, Vibration, and Ringing modes, it also unlocks new customization options.”

OnePlus promises the smart button will offer quick access to frequently used features, along with a "very interesting function" that remains under wraps for now.

A Compact Powerhouse with a Big Battery

Alongside the hardware change, the OnePlus 13T is shaping up to be a small yet mighty flagship. Rumors suggest it will feature a 6.3-inch flat display, catering to fans of compact phones.

Despite its smaller size, the device won’t compromise on endurance. Li Jie confirmed a 6,000mAh battery—matching or even surpassing the capacity of the larger OnePlus 13 (6.82-inch, 6,000mAh). Impressively, the 13T will weigh just 185g, making it significantly lighter than its sibling (210g).
