iPhone Air Long-Term Review: Is Apple’s Thinnest Phone Actually Durable?

Tech reviewers are finally offering their long-term opinions on Apple's most contentious design in years after using the iPhone Air for six months. The ultra-slim iPhone Air is a complete shock to the system for anybody accustomed to the large "Pro Max" devices, but in a good way. The durability is even more astounding than the thinness. The Ceramic Shield 2 glass and titanium frame have shown to be extremely durable, remaining fully scratch-free even after regular wear and tear, even after being used without a case or screen protector for six months.

The A19 Pro chip guarantees that this phone is an absolute powerhouse for everyday use. It performs flagship-level on all apps and tasks, and its lightweight design makes it considerably more comfortable to hold while making lengthy phone conversations or browsing social media. There is only one camera lens on the back, which may seem like a step backward. But in actual testing, the one 48MP sensor generates 4K images and video that are nearly identical to those from the expensive iPhone 17 Pro. It is more than sufficient for the typical person who simply wants amazing photos for Instagram.

The biggest surprise is how long the battery lasts. The iPhone Air is "deceptively good," usually lasting a full day for most users, although a phone this thin normally dies before noon. But if you are a big "power user" who spends all day recording videos or playing games, you may still find yourself reaching for a MagSafe charger before the sun goes down. At a $999 price point, it remains a luxury choice, but for those who value minimalist design and comfort, it’s a total game-changer.
