iPhone 17 Launches with 120Hz Display, Dual 48MP Cameras, 256GB Base
Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17, and it’s the first non-Pro iPhone to feature 120Hz ProMotion and Always-On Display. The 6.3" Super Retina XDR screen also hits a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, protected by Ceramic Shield 2 with better scratch and glare resistance.
Powering it is the A19 chip, with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU, plus the new Apple N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.
For the first time, the standard iPhone gets two 48MP rear cameras: a main sensor with 2x lossless zoom, and a 48MP ultrawide with macro. Photo styles and new iOS 26 features further enhance skin tones and vibrance.
The iPhone 17 also upgrades base storage to 256GB and starts at $799. It comes in lavender, mist blue, sage, white, and black. Pre-orders open September 12, with launch set for September 19.
