Apple iPhone Air Debuts: 5.6mm Thin, A19 Pro Chip, 6.5" 120Hz Display

Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 Air, its thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6mm. Replacing the iPhone 16 Plus, the Air features a 6.5-inch LTPO Super Retina OLED with ProMotion 120Hz and Ceramic Shield 2. Brightness peaks at 3,000 nits.

Under the hood is Apple’s powerful new A19 Pro chip, with MacBook-level performance, paired with the N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and the energy-efficient C1X modem.

The phone has a single 48MP rear camera and an 18MP selfie camera with Center Stage. While battery size isn’t confirmed, Apple claims all-day battery life, with an optional MagSafe battery pack ($99) boosting video playback to 40 hours.

The iPhone Air starts at $999 (256GB) and comes in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue. Pre-orders begin September 12, with availability in 63 countries on September 19, and more on September 26.
